Alley Art, Pinz Bowling Murals, Elgin

I recently had the incredible opportunity to work on a unique project at Pinz Bowling in Elgin, Scotland. It was both challenging and rewarding to paint two large murals on either side of the bowling lanes. Scroll down to read about and see the rest of this graffiti art work in Elgin, and how these walls literally light up.

The project kicked off with a detailed design phase. I collaborated closely with the owners of Pinz Bowling to create a visually appealing concept that would resonate with the lively and energetic atmosphere of the bowling alley. The designs needed to capture the essence of graffiti artwork while maintaining a vibrant Americana and family-friendly appeal.

A combination of bold lines and vivid colours were used to bring the designs to life. It's worth noting that all the artwork was painted in color, creating a visually appealing backdrop for the bowlers. But there's a surprise in that many of the colours used were fluorescent. This meant that under UV light conditions, the entire area lit up, creating a mesmerising and dynamic atmosphere.

The decision to incorporate fluorescent colors not only added an unexpected element to the murals but also enhanced the overall experience for visitors. It was a subtle surprise that truly came to life when the lights dimmed, and UV lighting took over. This unique feature has has added an extra layer of excitement to the Pinz Bowling experience.
